Abstrak

This study analyzes meaning construction in detik.com's news article “Rapat RUU Perampasan Aset di DPR, Pakar Ini Soroti Istilah ‘Perampasan’” using Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis. Employing a descriptive-qualitative method, the research shows that textual choices frame 'perampasan' as a problematic term violating human rights, favoring academic authority over the DPR. Discursively, detik.com relies on a single source, simplifying complex legislative issues into word-choice debates to delegitimize the DPR. Socio-culturally, corporate vision drives pseudo-neutral coverage for viral commercial interests. Ultimately, the news constructs a cautionary discourse, proving the media's active role in power negotiation and social reproduction.
