Abstract

This  study  aims  to  measure  the  insulation  resistance  of  a  3-phase  motor  and  evaluate  its insulation  condition  using  a  megger  test  with  a  voltage  of  500  V.  According  to  IEEE  Std  43-2000 standard, the minimum expected insulation resistance value is 5 MΩ. Samples of 3-phase motors were tested  by  measuring  the  insulation  resistance  between  phases  and ground  using  a  megger.  The  test results showed the insulation resistance values U -Ground of 318 MΩ, 356 MΩ, and 588 MΩ. Although the  insulation  resistance  values  did  not  reach  the  expected  minimum  value,  the  obtained  values  still indicate  good  insulationcondition  and  are  sufficient  for  the  motor's  operating  voltage.  Periodic insulation  resistance  testing  is  required  for  long-term  monitoring  and  maintenance  of  the  motor's insulation.
