Abstract

The management of domestic wastewater at PT. POMI incorporates the use of a screw pump to address issues in the storage tank, where the previous submersible pump fails due to changes in wastewater composition, which includes fiber. The screw pump is known for its high efficiency and power, especially when dealing with water that contains sand, mud, and fiber, and it operates using an alternative energy source, making it more energy-efficient and reducing the strain on the electricity supplied by PLN. By utilizing solar energy for pumping, PT. POMI aims to reduce reliance on fossil fuels typically used in PLTU power generation. The effectiveness of the screw pump is measured by sampling the wastewater entering the reservoir and comparing it to the output from the pump. A key challenge in using solar panels for this system is the weather factor. To power a 8.1 kWh pump, 12 solar panels, each rated at 100 Wp, are required, producing 400 Wh per panel, configured in parallel with four panels per configuration to meet the energy needs.
