Abstract

Within the AUM School of the PNF PCM Gresik Elementary and Secondary Education Council, communication between homeroom teachers and parents is still suboptimal. This communication tends to be administrative and one-way, thus hindering the development of a dialogue and collaborative relationship. This also leads to a lack of parental involvement and potential miscommunication. The objective of this activity was to improve the collaborative communication competency of homeroom teachers and strengthen the communication system between the school and parents. The implementation method used a participatory approach through three stages: preparation and needs identification, collaborative communication training, and activity evaluation. The activity was held on February 13, 2026, in the Al-Qolam Hall of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gresik, involving approximately 50 participants consisting of homeroom teachers, the principal, and administrators of Majelis Dikdasmen. The results showed an increase in participants' understanding of empathetic, persuasive, and collaborative communication, as well as their ability to deal with diverse parental characters. Furthermore, participants understood the importance of utilizing digital technology in school communication and administration. Conclusions indicate that strengthening collaborative communication can improve the quality of school-parent relationships and encourage active involvement in students' education.
