Abstract

ABSTRACT

            The problem of household waste, particularly organic waste, remains a challenge in various regions, especially in rural areas. Much organic waste is simple disposed of without proper management, resulting innegative environmental impacts. Utilizing household waste is one strategy to support sustainable waste management while increasing the productivity of household agriculture and plantations.this activity aims to increase public understanding and awareness, particularly among the residents of petahunan village, regarding the importance of processing organic waste into an aconomically valuable produst, namely a liquid organic fertilizer called “EkoKIn” (comtemporary compost ecology). It also aims to equip the community with practical skills to independently produce POC. This activity was implemented through outreach and direct training, inviting spreakers from the Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Lumajang. The results of this activity indicate an increase in community knowledge and enthusiasm for implementing and processing household waste into products that are environmentally beneficial and have the potential to improve family incomes. Furthermore, it can also a significant source of income for the Petahunan Village community, through sales ogf liquid organic fertilizer and the resulting crops.
